The history of the Brückenwirt pizzeria & inn in the Passeiertal
A historic pizzeria and brewery in South Tyrol
The origins of the Brückenwirt pizzeria and brewery in the Passeiertal date back to the early 20th century. In 1930 a saw mill stood at the foot of the Timmelsjoch and the Jaufenpass, at the exact same spot where today's pizzeria and brewery is located. By 1970 the Brückenwirt had become the very first fully automated bowling alley. As of 2003 it is the only wooden barrel brewery in Italy. The delicious "Höllenbräu" has been brewed here since. The pizzeria itself is a favourite destination for motorcyclists, vacationers and locals.
